More gimmicks from Ford

Determined to lure more consumers, Ford upstaged their incentive programs to prospective buyers with their “Drive on Us” discount program as what Reuters reported. Ford Motor Company confirmed that they would offer zero-percent financing on almost all of its vehicles and provide buyers $1,000 for gas purchases.

A similar program was also done by General Motors just recently and Ford won’t seem to allow one of their biggest rivals to take the edge. Both automaker gained higher sales with their large trucks and SUVs so their programs are aimed at encouraging consumers who at present are turning to smaller cars due to high gasoline cost.

This is quite an aggressive step for Ford considering their struggling situation at present. As compared to the previous year, Ford sales fell almost 4 percent during the first quarter of this year.

Analysts forecast that the company will report an even bigger decline in sales during the month of May and that serves as a big challenge for the second biggest automaker. Whether Ford’s strategy will pay off in the end or whether it will have a negative impact on their sales instead, that we still need to track closely in the coming months as the promo ends in July.

Growing concerns for the continued rise of gas prices have prompted many automakers to initiate programs that will augment the present situation. Auto Parts Discount likewise offers consumers high grade auto parts such as gas tanks, intake manifold and fuel filter to help you maintain the gas saving capabilities of your vehicle.
